What is an Annual Monitoring Report (AMR)?

The Annual Monitoring Report reviews and monitors the Local Development Framework, it assesses the implementation of the Local Development Scheme and the extent to which policies in local development documents are being achieved.

An Annual Monitoring Report is produced each year and covers the period from 1 April to 31 March. The first of these reports was produced in December 2005.

An Annual Monitoring Report will assess:

  • Whether policies are achieving their objectives and whether sustainable development is being delivered?
  • Are the assumptions and objectives behind policies still relevant?
  • Are the targets set in the Local Development Framework being achieved?

The concept of the Annual Monitoring Report has been developed to facilitate the monitoring of the Local Development Framework.
