Summary

The Core Strategy is a strategic document setting out the vision, objectives and spatial strategy for the Borough with policies to facilitate sustainable delivery. It will identify the amount of major new development proposed in the Borough up to 2021. This page gives details on the Core Strategy Issues and Options paper and its consultation period. This page provides a low resolution version of the document to reduce download times alongside a high resolution document which includes detailed photographs and maps, the factual content is the same.

What is the Core Strategy Issues and Options Paper?

 

The Issues and Options Paper is the first stage in preparing the Core Strategy. The paper establishes a number of options together with their advantages and disadvantages and seeks to attain views on which option is the most suitable.

 

The following key issues have been identified

  • Location of development
  • The management and use of green wedges
  • Affordable housing
  • Employment provision
  • Town centres and regeneration
  • Transportation
  • Sustainable and mixed development
  • Recreation and leisure facilities
  • Development in the countryside
  • Kilby Bridge

Supplemental Issues and Options Paper

As a result of previous consultations on the Core Strategy and advice from the Government Office we are undertaking consultation on a supplemental Issues and Options Paper which will consider choices and broad locations of growth. 

 

The supplemental Issues and Options and Paper is on consultation from Friday, 29 June 2007 to Friday, 10 August.
