Celebration of Volunteers 2024Logo for Celebration of Volunteers award

On Friday 29 November 2024, we will be holding a Celebration of Volunteers to recognise the fantastic voluntary work which goes on in our borough.

This year also sees the 50th anniversary of Oadby & Wigston Borough Council – so what better way to mark the occasion than by celebrating our community!

There are three awards for volunteers up for grabs:

Logos of Oadby & Wigston Borough Council, Oadby & Wigston Community Lottery, Amberwood Care Home and EEM LTDVolunteer of the Year - Sponsored by Amberwood Care Home – Someone who has really made a difference in the borough. They give up their own time to make a positive impact on the lives of others, whether that be through a club or group, charity work, protecting our environment – or anything else that improves our borough.

Young Volunteer of the Year – A young person who is making a big impact. They give up their own time to take on a responsibility for helping others and make a real difference to people in our borough. They might volunteer through their education, a charity, or a club or organisation.

Community Group of the Year – A community group, club or organisation which has improved the lives of residents in Oadby & Wigston. The group has a big impact on the community which it serves, and those within the group dedicate their own time to its success.

Nominations are open now, and will close at midnight on Monday 21 October – so if you can think of any local heroes who meet the above criteria, please complete the form below!
