Overview
We are looking for two talented and enthusiastic individuals to join us within our in-house Legal Services team. As part of the Law & Democracy team, we are responsible for providing comprehensive legal support across all the council’s activities and functions, ensuring statutory compliance and effective governance. The team also manages the council’s democratic processes, including committee administration and councillor support, together with delivering transparent and efficient elections. Our two part-time solicitors will jointly provide expert in-house legal services (both contentious and non-contentious) across a broad spectrum of matters, including contracts, conveyancing, prosecutions, and litigation. They will enjoy working primarily in a generalist role, embracing a variety of tasks, while contributing expertise in any specific, transferable areas of law and practice relevant to local government.
