Remembrance road closures - Sunday 10 November

Motorists in Oadby & Wigston are reminded that there will be a series of road closures this Sunday (10 November) to support Remembrance parades and services in the borough.
Closures can be expected at the following times:
Wigston town centre from 10.15 am to 12.10pm
Long Street will close from it's juntion with Bell Street and down to All Saints Church from 10.15am to 11.10 am for the parade. Bushloe End and Moat Street will also be closed on the approach to the church. The same roads will then close again from approximately 11.35am to 12.10pm for the Act of Remembrance.
Those looking to avoid the closures will need to make use of Bull Head Street, Paddock Street (one way) and Aylestone Lane.
South Wigston from 10.45am to 11.15am
The roads outside St Thomas' Church in South Wigston will close for around 30 mins between 10.45am and 11.15am for the Act of Remembrance.
Motorists will be unable to approach the church from all four directions - Blaby Road, St Thomas Road, Saffron Road and Countesthorpe Road. Please avoid this area for the 30-minute closure
Oadby town centre from 1.45pm to 4.15pm
The entirety of The Parade, from Sandhurst Street Car Park down to St Peter's Church will be closed from 1.45pm to approximately 2.40pm for the Remembrance Parade.
A further reduced closure around St Peter's Church will then also be in place from approximately 3.15pm to 4.15pm for the Act of Remembrance.
Motorists can navigate around the closures by using Rosemead Drive, the A6 Harborough Road and Brabazon Road.
