Regulation 18B Preferred Options Consultation – Spring 2024
Oadby & Wigston Borough Council undertook a public consultation on the Regulation 18B Preferred Options Consultation Draft Local Plan and the Sustainability Appraisal and Habitat Regulations Assessment Reports for a six week period between 12pm on Wednesday 3 April to 12pm Wednesday 15 May 2024.

Please note: this version of the draft plan did not contain any site allocations, but it did contain a list of all sites that had been submitted as Site Options as of spring 2024.
The Borough Council undertook a public consultation on the emerging Local Plan. It sought to cover the period up to the year 2041 and to plan for new development within the borough between now and then.

As part of the public consultation exercise for the Regulation 18B document, the Planning Policy team attended consultation exhibitions throughout the Borough. These exhibitions took place on the following dates and times:

Regulation 18A Issues and Options Consultation – Autumn 2021
Oadby & Wigston Borough Council undertook a public consultation on the Regulation 18A Issues and Options Consultation Draft New Local Plan and the Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report for an eight week period between 12pm on Friday 3 September 2021 and 12pm on Friday 29 October 2021.

The Borough Council published the Local Plan Issues and Options (Regulation 18A) Statement of Consultation. This document sets out how the consultation in 2021 was undertaken and provides a summary of the main issues raised and explains how these issues will be addressed and how they have continued to inform the preparation of the emerging New Local Plan.

Call for Sites
The council has undertaken three formal Call for Sites Public Consultations to date in 2020, 2021 and Spring 2024. These exercises were undertaken to understand what land interests there are in the borough for potential housing, employment, retail or other development uses from 2031 onwards.
