Oadby & Wigston Borough Council is proud to recognise veterans and reservists. We believe that the armed forces community have valuable skills and as an employer, we are committed to offering a wide range of opportunities.

We have signed the Armed Forces Covenant as part of our commitment to ensure that veterans and reservists are treated fairly. The Council has achieved the prestigious Silver Award which validates our devotion to the armed forces community.

This scheme guarantees an interview with the following criteria:

• You tell us you are an armed forces veteran or reservist when you apply.
• You left the armed forces less than three years ago
• Your last employer was one of the British armed forces.
• You meet the essential criteria for the role.

The recruitment process after this stage will continue as normal. We cannot guarantee you the role but it is an opportunity for veterans and reservists to showcase their skills and capabilities.
